CVMA® FL 20-1 The Final Mile

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle® Association (CVMA®) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for Veterans and their families. One of the ways the CVMA® shows its support is through its Final Mile Escort program.

The Final Mile Escort is a program designed to honor and pay tribute to fallen Veterans. When a Veteran passes away, the CVMA® provides a motorcycle escort for the funeral procession to ensure that the Veteran is given a proper and respectful final tribute.

On Monday, March 20, 2023, members from CVMA® Chapters FL 20-1, 20-2, 20-4, 20-10, 20-13, 20-15, 20-16, and 20-18 participated in honoring three Veterans to their Final Mile. The Final Mile ceremony took place at the Lake Nona VA and then the CVMA® escorted the three unclaimed Veterans, one Army, one Marine, and one Air Force, to the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

The CVMA® Final Mile Escort program is a powerful and moving demonstration of the organization’s commitment to honoring and supporting Veterans. The program is made possible through the efforts of dedicated CVMA® members who volunteer their time and resources to provide the escort.

The Final Mile Escort is a solemn and respectful event, with CVMA® members riding in a tight formation behind the hearse carrying the Veteran’s casket. The escort is often accompanied by law enforcement officers, who help to ensure the safety of the procession and show their support for the fallen Veteran.

It is a meaningful way for the CVMA® to give back to the men and women who have served our country. The program provides comfort and support to grieving families, and it helps to ensure that every Veteran receives the honor and respect they deserve in death.
